Monday 11 July marks the launch of a lung cancer awareness campaign as part of NHS Wales’ ‘Be Clear on Cancer Campaign’
Susan Morris, Head of Services for Macmillan Cancer Support in Wales, said: “Macmillan
Wales welcomes the lung cancer awareness campaign launched today as we know that lung cancer accounts for the highest amount of deaths from cancer in Wales.[i]
“The Wales Cancer Patient Experience Survey [ii], carried out by Macmillan and the Welsh Government, showed that people with lung cancer had a less positive experience than people with other types of cancer.
“Earlier diagnosis is crucial for people with lung cancer so we hope this campaign will support people to be diagnosed earlier and, in return, improve their outcomes and experience.”
